In this interactive workshop, Rachel Roberts has analyzed the different steps involved in the process of materials writing. She began by discussing the choice of a topic that engages students' interest and places appropriate linguistic and cognitive challenges. Then, she explained that lesson plans need to have variety,  changes in pace as well as smooth transitions. Rachel went on to describe how to use authentic materials to design new activities. She recommended to use the "middle text" as a source,  rewrite it and contextualize the activity appropriately. Finally, she highlighted that tasks need to have a concrete outcome.  All in all, Rachel has given the audience a simple yet complete guide to write effective classroom materials.
