ELTJ Debate: What has changed in ELT since 1995? Not much!

Session description

Presenter(s):
Keith Morrow

Session details:

To propose the motion: Barbara Sinclair (University of Nottingham)
To oppose: Guy Cook (The Open University)
Chair: Keith Morrow (ELT Journal)

The past is a foreign country’ wrote E.M. Forster but if we went back to an ELT classroom (or an IATEFL conference) in 1995, how strange would we find it?

Has there been a revolution – or even an evolution - in professional discourse or classroom practice since then? Or are things still basically the same?

Our two speakers have different views on this. Please come along, have your say, ask questions – and join in the vote.

Why 1995? Come along and find out.
