The session addresses the question, posed by White et al (2008), of how a manager can
“manage, monitor and evaluate (employees’) performance in a non-intrusive way that
does not demotivate”, by looking at the findings of a survey conducted in Australia into
staff views of their performance management experiences. Current practices of
performance management and appraisal will be discussed.
