The Centre for English Language Teaching (CELT) offers a range of English language courses, including General English February to March, an English Language Summer School in August, and English plus Sport (for closed groups by special arrangement). CELT delivers the following degree programmes: MSc TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages), MSc TESOL and CALL (Computer Assisted Language Learning), MSc TESOL and Applied Linguistics, and MSc Translation Studies and TESOL. PhD & EdD TESOL by research are also available, and short In-service Training Programmes for Overseas Teachers of English can be arranged on a client-specific basis.

General English February – March / Summer School in August Course Description: This course aims at developing and improving fluency and giving practice in all four language skills: listening and speaking (with integrated pronunciation) plus reading and writing (with integrated grammar). The syllabus is based on a General English textbook at one of four different levels: Pre-Intermediate; Intermediate; Upper-Intermediate; Advanced. Course Structure: Classes take place each weekday morning from 9am to 1pm. Upon arrival, students are tested and placed at an appropriate level, and they receive an orientation tour of the campus and city. Social events and excursions are also part of the programme, particularly in August.
