Exhibition Hall
Imagine you are at a language teaching market square, where merchants proudly advertise their product to the passing potential customers, inviting them to savour the latest developments in the field…Customers, who in turn are eager to find out the novelties, are entranced by new books, state of the art technological devices, ground breaking methodologies and – let’s be honest – the freebies offered in each stall.
This is the hub at Brighton Centre during intervals between sessions. IATEFL delegates are lured to this market by the smell of coffee and the real possibility to take home more than ideas, but books, information leaflets, the chance of taking a post graduation course, promotional material and mementos of this amazing reunion of EFL professionals.
At the centre is the IATEFL stand, surrounded by the elegant British Council space and the biggest publishers, so vital to us EFL teachers. Not far, you can find an array of options, such as information about new methodologies (for very young kids, for example), post graduation courses, books to buy, books to order, publications in general (even The Guardian newspaper is here), and informationa about Brighton and Glasgow, where the 2012 conference is to be held. I can’t forget the Internet Café, where we all connect to the outside world.
In short, a space for buying, sharing, interacting, connecting, learning and networking, such is the diversity of this conference. But this is yet to come in another post. Would you like some coffee??
