Brighton Online pre-event website feedback - post your comments here
Dear all, We'd love to get your feedback on the Brighton Online website - this will help us improve a few things in the coming weeks before the conference starts. If you have any comments about the Brighton Online website or any questions about our online coverage, please post here. Thanks, The Brighton Online Team
Thanks for the nitpicking Olwyn -_- fixed !
Hi Julian
Great work! Thanks for putting together another great site.
Is it right that as an ordinary site member I can only post replies but not actually start discussion threads in the forums - as was the case in previous years?

Hi Carl
Thanks for the feedback
On starting threads - no I don`t think you will be able to start a thread
Maybe you could try & let me know what happens
Was it that you wanted to create a new thread?
Out of interest - what was the new thread you wanted to start?
Thanks
Julian
Hi Julian,
My enquiry was more on behalf of SIG members who may ask me questions about the forums and how they can be used.
In the BE forum there's a message that says "You are not allowed to post new content in the forum". So, I take it that should they ask, I can tell people that this year they can respond to the threads the moderators start, but not start threads themselves. Does that sound about right to you?
Thanks again for the great job you and your team have done.
Carl
Hi Carl -
You say : In the BE forum there's a message that says "You are not allowed to post new content in the forum".
I can`t see this message - can you pls post a link to this message
Thanks
Julian
Ah - Carl this might be because the moderators are not yet in the forums so things aren`t quite up & running as they should be
If you wait till next week - the moderators will be in - and the forums will function a little differently
Thanks again Carl
Julian
HI Julian and Carl,
The English for Academic Purposes Forum has already two posts from the moderator.
You can reply those posts, but you are not allowed to post new content.
Mercedes
Hi Mercedes
When you say "you are not allowed to post new content." - maybe what you mean is general users can`t start new threads
We`ll look into this and make some changes next week
Thanks
Julian
As with previous years all users now have the ability to create new topics on a forum.
Moderators are now in place.
Martin
Hi Martin,
Great! It's working just fine now.
Thanks for your terrific work.

when i participated for the first time in IATEFL, I was so excited and impressed for the program. This is very useful for me as an english tutor to get new knowledge of how to teach english appropriately.

Hi Julian,
I see your introduction to this forum still has Harrogate Online not Brighton Online - don't you just hate nitpicking proofreaders!
