Cross-curricular language learning through IMI (involuntary musical imagery) and drama - Carole Nicoll

Words connected to rhythm and music have always been a very powerful memory
aid, and this is supported by recent research into Involuntary Musical Imagery (IMI).
This session will explore the way that IMI supports CLIL in the primary classroom,
and will endeavour to show that other learning is enhanced by the skills that
language learning brings to the table.

Dear Carole,
What a pleasure to see how you live (I feel in your case it is the synonym of "you teach") - it is the most energetic workshop I've watched on-line. Well done!
All the best to you and your students!

Dear Carol
I was present in your workshop and watch it again now. My budget as a teacher trainer did not allow me to buy the materials. Is there a minimilised version available for EYL to present to students?

Thanks again

Tine

Dear Carole I only follow a conference on-line. And your session was one which was picked at random as I don't know many names. I was taken by you and the topic.I am very much interested in teaching through drama and music. So i downloaded the materials of the session. Is there any way to download the music for the songs as well? They are catchy and really easy to remember but still if it rap the kids prefer the drums.. Thanks a lot again for a very lively session.

Nice workshop. You can write books theorizing about the usefulness of rythem and songs to language teaching, but that won't be as effective without a real demonstration where each one of us gets a flavor and a feel of music in the classroom.

I have been wondering about the limitations of music in language teaching. But it seems to me that writing and reading in the advanced stages can't be carried through the medium of songs. However, for basic vocabulary and grammar structures and pronunciation, songs come in handy.

It's a great demonstration workshop! Thank you.
