Liz has been in English Language Teaching for eleven years and has worked in a wide variety of contexts, cultures and countries. She is currently in Brussels where she is Public Courses Coordinator for the British Council Teaching Centre.

Liz has always questioned the validity of materials and activities in English Language teaching and how it reflects the reality of the learners and the teachers. She is concerned that the diversity of the UK and the learners' own culture isn't represented accurately. Since 2007, she's been proactive in designing materials which incorporate diversity themes and blending them with teaching skills and language. She recently gave a video conference to state school teachers in Brazil as part of the 'Cafe Scientifique' event organised by the British Council Recife. The aim was for Liz to share her ideas with a wider audience whose work is of an immediate impact.

As well as mainstreaming diversity themes in her daily teaching work, she is also responsible for coordinating all the Equal Opportunities and Diversity activities for the whole British Council Brussels office.
