Researching the influence of pre-task language embedding on task performance
Presented By Theron Muller
Session Details
This presentation explores how language embedded in the pre-task influences student task performance, expanding on Boston (2008), who analyzed learner "mining" of task input. The research compares learners receiving text input and pictures, examining how mining of text influences task performance and incorporating analysis of student utterances and written production using both quantitative and qualitative instruments.
