The European Language Portfolio is a tool which fosters autonomy and encourages learners to document learning and intercultural experiences. The presentation describes a study which investigated future teachers' perceptions of a Polish version of the document for senior high school students and language learners in institutions of higher education as well as the effects of its introduction in methodology classes.
