Ideas versus reality: English grammar teaching in Nigerian schools

That grammar is an essential aspect of ESL teaching and learning is not an overstatement. Ideas on methodology abound in the area. Much as these ideas have proved tremendously effective in some environments, they are not in others. This work discusses the approaches adopted by textbooks and teachers in teaching plural nouns and demonstratives compared with another proposed teaching strategy.
