Water futures: content and language integrated learning for secondary teachers

Based on teacher training sessions delivered to secondary school teachers on collaborative projects between Yemeni and British children, the presenter will look at training teachers to integrate content (water issues) into language classes to create a more stimulating learning environment and raise students’ awareness of how different cultures view global issues.

About Eilidh Hamilton

Eilidh Hamilton is currently project manager for a client-funded Academic Language Support Programme run by the British Council in Qatar. This programme trains maths and science teachers, working in Qatar's independent school system, in teaching their subjects through English and supporting their students' learning through English. Previously she was the English Manager for the British Council in Yemen. She has lived and worked in the Arab world for 14 years.
