This presentation will look at a freely available, non-commercial Java Applet which takes texts and turns them into 'beautiful word clouds' known as Wordles. A range of uses of this internet-based resource will be discussed and attendees will receive a number of English language 'Wordles' with associated teaching ideas to take away.

I've just found that in my handout I said that you could exclude a word in a Wordle with 'Control Click' but I meant 'right click' (when you have a two button mouse). I've uploaded an amended handout. Sorry if this has frustrated anyone!

I hope that the 30 or so
I hope that the 30 or so people who didn't get a handout will be able to access this site - it was difficult to predict how many I'd get in the last slot on the first day and I supposed that 50 would be enough! sorry to those who went away disappointed!!
