Teaching grammar to young learners through stories: a classroom experiment

This talk will describe a recent study about the comparative benefits of teaching grammar through children’s stories in structural, communicative and mixed approaches. The proficiency gains of different pedagogical tasks with an implicit grammar focus compared with the gains derived from traditional grammar tasks in the same linguistic context will be discussed. The pedagogical implications of these approaches will follow.
