Last day
The conference is closing today and I just want to share my general impression about it.
First, it's really instructive and the best thing is that you learn such a great deal from people around the world. Not all presentations were excellent but at least you had a different point of view! There were lots of talks given by the famous authors of different books - course books, teacher development book, teacher resource books etc. And the number of fresh ideas that you have listening to all those people, perhaps, is much bigger than you can shove into your head and digest. Or, it's better to say, you really need time to digest them...until the next conference.
Then there were a number of social events, like impressing Pecha Kucha event, concert of Welsh music and other cultural events that gave an insight into Welch culture.
There was also an exhibition where Publishing Houses engaged in TEFL materials publishing were presented. So it was a great chance to see the new books in the field. Lots of them are really worth having, but ... Gosh! They are expensive, even at a discounted price they offer for the Conference participants!!!
And another very important reason for coming to events like this - you meet teachers around the globe, you can discuss the problems that you have and, luckily, find a solution to them. It's really invigorating and stimulating.
And there are some lucky draws here. Who knows, you might win an i-pod or some other trendy and handy thing.
See you at the next IATEFL conference in Harrogate, Yorkshire.

Dear Yuliya,
Thank you very much for your impressions about this year's IATEFL Conference in Cardiff.
I was very glad to participate in some online Forums in which I have exchanged some views regarding diferent topics of interest. It was so enriching and inspiring indeed. Now I would appreciate if you wouldn't mind telling me a little more about what "Pecha Kucha" event was about... I think it must be related to some Welsh traditions or so. Is it right or wrong?.
Look forward to hearing from your explanation, Yuliya.
Best wishes
Maria
