What do you feel are the most interesting themes and issues within ELT Management that you think the IATEFL conference should be exploring and addressing?

Nobody seems to be reacting to this thread, so here goes:

It's worth looking at the Conference Programme to see which themes and issues are being addressed in the "physical" conference. I have scrolled my way through the many pages and counted the sessions which have an ELTM next to them.

There are a couple of "Pre Conference Events" -  "Conflict Management" has a thread on the ELT-M forum already.

Then we have 3 sessions on the Wednesday, 5 sessions on the Thursday, 5 sessions on the Friday and 2 sessions on the Saturday with a ELTM focus.

Who would like to start a thread on one of these 15 topics? Anyone can do so! (not just the presenters or moderators)

The most intriguing one in my mind (but possibly not the most useful) is the very last one "Using Literature for teaching Management"

 Hi Diana,

I think it is so important  theme, because teaching process depends on a healthy

and creative management.

When we say about learner-centred and teacher-centred, we mean different classroom

managments, which each of this managments has its own content and strategy.

There are so many questions:

What are differences between these two types of managements?

What kind of contents  has each of them?

What pcychological and pedagogical principles are they based?

Hi all,

I think talking about the seven approaches to classroom management seems worth-addressing in the conference. Upon one of these approaches any teacher draws, right?

  1. The Assertive Approach.
  2. The Business Academic Approach:
  3. The Behaviour Modification Approach:
  4. The Group Management Approach:
  5. The Group Guidance Approach:
  6. The Acceptance Approach:
  7. The Success Approach:

Cheers,

Rachid
