imagination art, and storytelling

Hi everybody,
Imagination art, and storytelling are three elements suceptible to enhance the students' ability to be both creative readers painters and writers. The activities to be used for such elements can prove efficient if we allow ss to feel free to use imagination while painting or writing their story.
These three elements may be used collaboratively amidst ss at the same activity . We can for instance ask each student in each group to write a short passage about something they like/dislike or dream of. After 10 minutes, they will underline a phrase or stce they like in their passage. Then every student will write the underlined stce or phrase in a strip of paper to be arranged in a form of poem .
Then each group of ss will be asked to imagine animals or natural elements related to the main topic of their poem to be painted collaboratively on large hard papers or on murals. Then each group will read or act/dramatise the poem in front the other groups.
This type of activities consolidate connections and strengthen bonds among ss of different cultural backgrounds. It also encourages introvert ss to be more open to the surrounding world.....
My question is: 1- do you think we can use painting and writing at the same time to trigger off ss' imagination?
2- what other activities you suggest to enhance ss' imagination?
cheers
