I'm flying off from Germany to England on family business today until Sunday. On Tuesday I fly back and after visiting my sister I shall make my way down to Cardiff on Saturday in preparation for a committee meeting, a pre-conference day and then the conference itself. I may be quiet until I get to Cardiff. It depends on how successful I am in getting into the internet when I'm on the move. I'm told I need a dongle, which sounds like rude Australian word to me.
Be with you all again shortly.
Have a good trip Dennis, hope to hear from you when you're at the conference venue. So rememeber about those who are not going to be there in person.
Anna
Anna,
Believe me, I most certainly will not forget those of you who cannot attend. I think I will try to attend and briefly report on 1 or 2 sessions in Cardiff per daz - more is not realistic. (And I assume there will be two roving reporters who file a daily report).
But it could also be interesting, perhaps, to all view specific recordings and discuss those here. There is so much on offer I believe it it is neceesary to be selective.
Thanks Dennis,
I absolutely agree that reporting on more than 1 or 2 sessions a day is not realistic. And I'm sure you'll be doing a great job for us not present there Dennis.
I looked through the programme and the whole site today but couldn't find the info about when the recordings will be available online. Do you know perhaps?
Anna
Hi Anna
We'll be filming and making available on the Cardiff Online site around 40+ video sessions - these will be published throughout the conference
Also, as Dennis mentions, you'll be able to read and listen to reports, interviews and a lot more
Stay tuned!
Julian
Thank you very much Julian, I will stay tuned :-)
Anna
Hi, julian,
are we going to be able to see Marc Prensky's Plenary or only the Q&A session?
thanks, iskra
Iskra,
There will be only the interview with Marc Prensky as a recording. For anumber of reasons it was not possible to film the plenary. Pity.
Dennis
I'll be offline until Monday as I make my way back to Germany. Suprisingly sad leaving the hustle and bustle, always bumping into new and old friends on the stairs and in the corridors. This was the Twitter conference and every fifth person, it seems to me, had their notebook with them. Prensky's talk, for me, was one of the most stimulating presentations and the launch of Scott Thornbury's and Luke Medding's book on dogme the most exciting event . Last night I attended OUP's farewell party for Alan Maley. And for shere fun - The Pecha Kucha evening.
God willing, I'll be back with you on Monday, surveying the (Cardiff) records, seeing what we've got and what there is to follow up. What surpises me a little is that the main actiivity on this list was before the conference.
Best wishes, but must go to breakfast and finish packing so I don't miss my train.
Dennis
Hi Dennis,
I guess the reason is just the same as yours: we've been busy watching the vidoed sessions and interviews. In my case it's taking up most of the time I can devote to the conference. So, I hope to see everyone back on Monday.
Have a nice journey home,
Anna
Hi, Anna,
It looks as if you could be right. People have been busy watching and listening. Looking back perhaps we will see that the most discussion came after the conference! There has certainly been a lot of activity here in the last few days.
Greetings to you all.
Dennis

Well that's my new word for the day!
Enjoy your time away and hopefully get to meet you at the YL pre-conference day.
